Swimming lessons with Swim Ireland – Room 11S

Published by under 5th Class

The boys and girls in Room 11S are very lucky to be attending swimming lessons in the National Aquatic Centre for 11 weeks in Term 2 courtesy of Swim Ireland.

Swim Ireland also provided every student in 5th and 6th class with swimming goggles, a swimming hat and a swimming bag for their swimming lessons. You can see that the children in Room 11S are very happy with their new swimming gear.

We are looking forward to our next visit to the Aquatic Centre to develop our swimming skills.

Thank you Swim Ireland!

Happy New Year from Room 6

Published by under General

The boys and girls in Room 6 celebrated the New Year by watching video clips of fireworks from around the world. The fireworks were very colourful. In Room 6 we were so impressed by the fireworks in London that we decided to make some scratch art to replicate them.

First we coloured a page using oil pastels. It was really important to make sure that the page was completely coloured, leaving no white spaces.

Then we painted the whole page with black paint…I know, sounds silly doesn’t it!?

Once the paint had dried it was time to add the finishing touches to our masterpieces. We took a ruler and very carefully scraped the London skyline and fireworks onto the page.

Have a look at the results below and a very Happy New Year from all in Room 6.
